The San Ramon Valley Unified School District consistently ranks among the top 10% of all school districts in California. California High School, Iron Horse Middle School, Stone Valley Middle School were 2006 Blue Ribbon schools, nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The Performing Arts Center at Dougherty Valley High School includes a 600 seat theater with full stage, lobby, restrooms, City office, dressing rooms, and a 3,500 square foot rehearsal room. The rehearsal room is designed to accommodate both City and school district rehearsals as it duplicates the size of the main stage, leaving the theater for actual performances. The 600-seat Dougherty Valley Performing Ars Center is a joint use facility with the city of San Ramon and offers a full schedule of programs.
The campus tennis court facilities host competitions for the U.S. Tennis association and the San Ramon Youth Tennis Team.
The Dougherty Valley Aquatic Park located on the Dougherty Valley High School campus hosts lifeguard training classes, recreational swimming, swim lessons and lap swimming.
